Senior Web Applications Developer

Punchbowl Software, the developers of MyPunchbowl.com is seeking a Senior Web Applications Developer to join our growing team. MyPunchbowl is an award-winning site for event and party planning. We're a small and nimble startup, and offer a great place to work.

Who you are:

  • You love building web apps, and have experience in the latest and greatest web frameworks and languages (we're a Ruby on Rails shop, so ideally you have a working knowledge of Ruby on Rails)..
  • You have solid XHTML/CSS skill and Javascript skills.
  • You write concise and beautiful code that is easy to read and maintain.
  • You are energetic, opinionated, and creative ... all tempered with a liberal dose of pragmatism.
  • You don't fear the command-line, deployment, servers, etc.
  • You know what most of these words mean: SQL, ERB, RJS, YAML, REST, Capistrano, Memcached, Mongrel.
  • You have at least 6 months experience working on a consumer-facing web application.
  • You are looking to join a group of smart and movtivated professionals in a fun work enviornment.
  • You live within a 45 minute drive of Framingham, MA.

Director, Business Development

Punchbowl Software is looking for an experienced Business Development person to lead our partnership efforts.

We’re looking for a person with a proven track record in consumer internet marketing to be a key member of the management team. The Director of Business Development will report to the CEO at the company’s Framingham, MA headquarters.

Job Description

  • Identify and sign deals with national retailers and venues to extend the distribution and reach of our product
  • Close opportunities with priority sales accounts and strategic partners
  • Source sales leads through aggressive and pro-active approaches including face to face meeting and phone sales calls
  • Drive the company’s co-marketing activities with leading industry companies
  • Develop and report on key metrics to quantitatively gauge the impact of all business development activities
  • Work with the CEO to drive revenue and integration with our business development partners

Position Requirements:

  • 5-7 years experience and successful track record with business development in a consumer setting
  • A strong network and reputation within the consumer package goods industry
  • Proven record of structuring and negotiating win/win deals
  • Significant experience and familiarity with partnership development, traffic acquisition, and analysis in an online business
  • Firm understanding of Google Analytics and other website reporting tools
  • Hands on experience with working with development teams to implement partnership programs
  • Proven project management skills with the ability to multi-task
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Enthusiasm and passion with readiness to join an early-stage startup
